Experimental Study on the Influences of Defects on Expanding Fracture of a Metal Cylinder

摘要: 采用高速分幅摄影技术,通过对比实验,获得了清晰的无缺陷和预制缺陷金属圆管膨胀断裂的演化图像。实验结果表明,缺陷大大加速了圆管的断裂过程;有缺陷圆管的产物开始泄漏的时间比无缺陷圆管提前5.5 s,采用应力/应变集中法很好地解释了这种现象。另外,针对预制缺陷圆管膨胀断裂时出现的裂块较小而数量较多、无缺陷圆管膨胀断裂时裂块相对较大而数量较少的现象,采用Mott波理论进行了合理的解释。Abstract: By means of high-speed frame photography, clear images of the expanding fracture of two metal cylinders with and without a notch were obtained. The experimental results showed that the notch defect would significantly accelerate the fracture process of the cylinder. For the metal cylinder containing a prefabricated notch, the leakage time of detonation products (5.5 s) is earlier than that without a notch, which can be satisfactorily explained by stress or strain concentration. Furthermore, using Mott wave theory, it is well explained that the fragments of the metal cylinder with a notch defect are smaller and more abundant than that without defect.
